McGlynn signs two-year extension
Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn (pictured) has signed a new two-year deal that will keep him at Stark’s Park at least until the summer of 2012, writes Bruce Fegen.
The club has confirmed that McGlynn, whose current contract expires this summer, has now put pen to paper on a two-year extension.
It’s a massive boost for Rovers ahead of their Active Nations Scottish Cup semi-final clash next month at Hampden against the winner of the Dundee United v Rangers tie, with chairman Dave Somerville saying he was delighted.
“We are very, very pleased,” he said.
“The management team of John, supported by Paul Smith, works very well, and a lot of credit for the success we have had recently is down to them.
“Since John has come to Raith, we have progressed year on year and he knows we need to keep doing that..................

Raith snap up new keeper
Published: 04/05/2010
RAITH Rovers manager John McGlynn made his first signing of the summer after snapping up former Hibs goalkeeper Andy McNeil on a one-year contract.
McNeil, who played in the Easter Road side’s 2007 League Cup success, has agreed a pre-contract deal with Rovers from Montrose and will officially put pen to paper when the season comes to an end on May 16.
Edinburgh-based McNeil has been training with the Kirkcaldy club during the day for the past season while playing at Third Division part-timers Montrose and is being brought in to challenge David McGurn for the gloves, with veteran shot-stopper Gary O’Connor retiring.
