The 28-year-old Northern Ireland forward played in league wins over Celtic, Hamilton and Hearts last month, scoring at Tynecastle.

St Johnstone's Michael O'Halloran wins November Premiership award

St Johnstone forward Michael O'Halloran has won the Scottish Premiership player of the month award for November.
O'Halloran, 24, scored in the 2-1 win over Kilmarnock early last month and contributed to Saints' victory over Dundee United and draw with Dundee.

Partick Thistle: Alan Archibald is manager of the month

Partick Thistle's Alan Archibald was thrilled to be named Premiership manager of the month for November.
But the 37-year-old Jags boss thinks St Johnstone's Tommy Wright should have picked up the award instead.
Thistle took seven points from nine last month, scoring eight goals.

"I was delighted with the award but a wee bit embarrassed to be honest," said Archibald. "I thought Tommy Wright would have got it as St Johnstone have been on a fantastic run."

Thistle's unbeaten run in November moved the Firhill club out of the danger zone and up to ninth in the table.
The month was capped with a fine 5-2 victory at Kilmarnock.

Falkirk: Danny Rogers and Peter Houston win December awards

Falkirk goalkeeper Danny Rogers and manager Peter Houston have won an awards double after their side's fine form during December.
Houston has been named Scottish Championship manager of the month, while Rogers has the player prize.
Falkirk won three of their league games, including beating leaders Rangers, and drawing with Hibernian.
Houston's side have leapfrogged Hibs into second place, although the Edinburgh side have a game in hand.

Als Dundee United nach dem vielleicht schlechtesten Lauf der Vereinsgeschichte vor einiger Zeit Killie mit 5-1 demontierte, fiel mir gleich auf, dass ein Spieler nach langer Verletzungspause wieder in die Startelf zurück gekehrt war: Paul Paton.
Das alte Kampfschwein im Mittelfeld konnte dann zwar nicht das 0-3 gegen Motherwell verhindern und auch nicht die knappe Pleite in einem von beiden Seiten stark geführten New Firm Derby, doch machte Mixu ihn gleich wieder zum Kapitän und trotz seiner defensiven Position traf er bei den Spielen gegen die Hearts und in Dingwall gleich selbst zum Sieg.
Auch gestern im Pokalspiel hielt er den Laden zusammen und nach seiner Auswechslung erzielte Billy McKay für 10 Tangerines sogar noch den Siegtreffer in den Highlands. Patons starke Leistungen, die besonders nach einer so langen Verletzungspause bemerkenswert sind, wurden jetzt auch von der SPFL anerkannt. Verdientermaßen ist er der Spieler des Monats Februar- und wer weiss, vielleicht führt er seine Mannen ja tatsächlich noch zum Klassenerhalt:


Scottish Premiership: Dundee United's Paul Paton wins award

Paul Paton has been named Scottish Premiership player of the month but insists that Dundee United's upturn in results is more important.

United's good form has coincided with Paton's return from long-term injury.

"It's always nice," the midfielder said of his February award. "But obviously the most important thing is that it was a good month for the club.

"We've got a lot of big games coming up, we're still positive and confident and we'll take that into those games."

United remain eight points behind Kilmarnock at the bottom of the Scottish Premiership despite five wins in their last eight matches.

But they bounced back from a midweek league defeat by second-top Aberdeen with a stirring 3-2 Scottish Cup quarter-final victory away to Ross County on Saturday.
